I'm sure that we can add a function that sets it to Float.  This would most likely have to be "edge triggered" so to
re-trigger a Float from Bulk/Absorb, you would have to bring the logic low and then high again (I think)...

The minimum voltage for a logic high is around 6 volts and the maximum voltage for a logic low is around 3 volts with
present and previous hardware.  So a 12V logic signal is perfect for this.

Awesome boB. Sounds perfect. Thanks!  I'll look for this in future firmware. :)

Once the Classic has the ability to know the battery current, here is what I think you should do with programming the features:  Create a format for downloadable charge profiles.  Partner with battery manufacturers to create battery-specific charging profiles.

When I get a new printer for my computer, I download a new driver.  When I buy new batteries, I would like to download a new charging profile.

good idea VT, just need to add: MN just needs to make it clear that the profile probably will need to be fine tuned to account for DoD and other environmental factors that are site specific

Westbranch,

Completly agree,  that the Absorption voltage and time depends upon the useage,  condition,  available RE input and age of the bank,  as does EQ V and time.

But,  as vt ..  noted,  it sure would be nice to be nice to be able to load differing charge profiles and (perhaps)  a mask of how/when to use them.   This could be in an accessory   'controller - controller'   that would handle Fantasy battery recharging for those among us who are  obsessive types.

But the Battery Current Monitor will be a nice step in this progression.   Vic

Good point Vic, I hadn't thought of an input mask via laptop or desk jobby CPU.

Actually that might be the way to go for the whole process.  Download the 'factory '  parameters, transfer into the mask,  and then fine tune them through the mask or create our own...

....hmm...  thoughts of an Access DB (or something similar) come to mind...
