Is there any word as to when this controller will be available? I will be in the states later this year and would like to purchase (at least) one while there.

I was just looking for a sealed unit. Use to have a Specialty Concepts CC on a pontoon boat in Florida, managed 2 years before it failed. I don't think they make anything above 15amps. I have friends who want power in their garden to run a water pump while the sun is shining, this should work nicely, looks like it will turn on and off with the sun, and work with a buried AGM battery (to keep it cool) -Nice!

We think the Brat will be a widely used PWM controller. I don't think you can take a competitors unit and just nail it to a tree and expect it to survive.
Home system 20 - 200watt Evergreen, E-Panel, 2-Classic Lite 150s up and running and 14 Suntech 185watt panels, and another Classic Lite in a dark room. Cabin system 8-115watt 12V, 6 - 170-5watt 24v, Pulse/Trace PC250 Power Center, 800AH 24V forklift Batt, ProSine 1800 watt (24v) inverter.

The "Brat" has two 3mm holes in it for drainage. I imagine you can cover / plug them, though, if necessary.

Quote from: Robin on May 04, 2014, 02:37:47 AMRapid prototype clear plastic cases have proven to be invaluable, The first two versions looked cool, but they didn't work very well. I am hoping to have the next version in hand by the time we get the next boards stuffed in a couple of weeks. We will be getting only one or two sets of prototype enclosures though as they cost over $1000 each.
If we get it right this time (third time is a charm), we will send the files off to have the production tooling made.

Have you looked into 3-D printing for prototyping?

Yes we do have a 3d printer on site. I am not 100% sure why they did not use it for this other than maybe it is not quite up to the quality for the fine parts?
