If I bought a second Classic 150 can I network them together for communications but have them serve different systems , I.e. different battery banks and different inputs. My goal is to be able to program from either controller but have totally different parameters for each system, separate BTM's and Whizbang's and be able to share the data externally and program each from local control panel.

Dave;

You can certainly have multiple Classics on multiple systems all connected via ethernet and accessible by the Local Application but I do not think you want them in "Follow Me" mode if charging different systems.

If I understand the question?

Do NOT mistake me for any kind of "expert".

TomW,

Yes you got my idea except wire them up like a follow me but not use follow me mode as the systems will be totally separate . If I use the Ethernet connection I will need extra hardware and a full time internet connection , also anyone else can poke in and do stuff. My needs are local networking only. I have to pay for all data and I cannot justify paying Verizon to program or check a controller 100 feet away

Edit.      To make a bit more clear.      These two systems would serve different functions.     Bottom line goal:     Not to have to go out in the night to check the system in the shop.    and not drop a project in the shop to check the house system.       AND  not pay some carrier to do that

I think what you are asking is can you use the follow me cables without enabling follow me so you can make on classic visible from the other MNGP? If so the answer is yes that will work fine.

You can also through a cheap router in and wire the 2 classics to that router and use a PC to see them with the local app even with no internet just fine

Ryan,

That is exactly what I would want to do! Is it possible that that cheap router could have a wi-fi link so I could communicate with local app on my iPad. If not I have an older Toshiba notebook with an Ethernet port , local app and no Internet.

My link to the outside world is 700 MHz  4Glte  ,not cheap

Yes in to today's world a cheap wireless Router will be 30-40 bucks and then the Classics wire to it and the laptop can connect to it wirelessly and walla you will have the local app. No internet required

td,

I have been sort of doing this for some time now. Two different systems with Classics and monitoring using the Local App.
The only minor issue I have is that the Local App summary screen shows on one line for each Classic the energy, power and charge stage. It would have been nice to have battery voltage included.

Half crazy and dgd ,

That is exactly is what I am trying to do and solves all monitoring and control needs. Now to get a winders machine new enough I can upgrade with,or some other way to do it.
