Battery & Earth Terminals - Will 25mm2 Cable Fit??

Hi all

I'm trying to standardise a system design using a single cable gauge (going to be building a lot of these).

I understand that the Battery Terminals on the Classic are spec'd for max 4AWG.

In this part of the world you can't readily purchase cable in standard AWG sizes. Plus it seems that standard crimp lugs don't exist for 4AWG.

I can readily purchase stranded 25mm2 cable, which has a greater cross sectional area by comparison to 4AWG (21.15mm2).

Can anybody advise if 25mm2 cable does work with these terminals? If not, is there a similarly sized standard metric size cable that will fit? Generally we go from 25mm2 to 16mm2, which is quite a jump.

Also, what is the max metric size the Classic's earth terminal will accommodate?

Thanks

Thanks guys

Now I did see that thread earlier Westbranch. That surely is an ornate solution all be it a little convoluted for my purposes.

Can anybody vouch for the max diameter cable or cross sectional area they've managed to squeeze in these terminals? I'm guessing some just remove a few strands from their cables to squeeze the conductors in there.

Also how is the earth terminal sized (I don't have a Classic on hand to measure at the minute)?

ClassicCrazy

I looked back on a thread on here where I talked about only being able to squeeze in 4 gauge . Vic had said in another post that it has to be 19 strand type and that fine threaded cables of 4 gauge size won't fit in .

Not sure about the ground lug - don't remember if it was larger than the other terminals.
