A quick photo of the system installed. It's been a long road and I still have a bunch to learn but I believe I have the controller pretty much dialed in thanks to the help I got here. The Magnum components all work great too. I'm still working on the AGS portion and I need to set some parameters for a test to make sure it all works when called on.

Hello plongson,
great looking install...
I live in Australia and by the looks of it we do things differently down here.  Can you give me a couple of explanations on your methods please.
1) Are the metal conduits a wiring standard requirements or was your option?
2) Can you explain the battery exhaust setup.  It looks neat.
Thanks, Gianni

Hey Gianni, As far as I know metal conduit or EMT is not required in residential applications (someone wit a better knowledge of the NEC may chime in here) BUT, I come from an industrial background and I believe this exceeds all code. Plus if it is exposed I like metal rather than flex...just me.

The cover is custom made (sounds like a big deal huh..) by me, but is finished with what I hope will be resistant to the vapors from a venting battery. It's just to vent H2 mostly. I cannot see much acid fumes coming up but you never know. I did not use a power vent, there are louvers on the outside that won't allow water or critters in ( I hope).

Hope that answers your questions...

Just a side note...
This weekend was the big move-in, Thanksgiving. Scary time to christen a new home, but what the heck, we're family...right??

We are all propane, but we had to install an **GULP** 240v ELECTRIC oven, we just couldn't find what we wanted. We really don't bake much and figured that it would rest on the shoulders of the genset. With EVERY light in the house on (LED/CF's), stereo and the oven baking pies, the Kubota was kicking out only 20a. I was very happy and on special occasions with family and friends, 'll throw in a few gallons of diesel. The place is sized pretty good strictly off grid or "DAMN lets PARTY".

Looks great. However, if you look  on the first photo -- are you going to  put those exposed battery wires in a  conduit ? They are accessible and subject to damage so need to protected by a conduit.

I love the big door into the living room.  What sort of floor tile is that - looks great.   And who left tire tracks on it  ;D

Nice!  Very tidy install.

Is this back up power for your site, or the only source?  Now you just need more panels...

Thanks for the reply's

As far as conduit'ing the cables...They are really just staying the way they are. There is no one there doing any activities that will potentially damage the cables and if some one were to hit it with a car, I'd have more to worry about than the cables. Just my 2 cents

The floor is actually epoxy with specks and clear over the top, So far it really is sweet. my wife drove in and made the tracks but you can guess who cleaned them up... (ya, me. LOL)

Man, I'd love to have more panels. We're actually all plumbed for more but it's all dollars and cents and right now we've spent it all so...that's all the panels for now. it's...conserve, conserve, conserve at least until we have more sun.
