I have a classic 150 which I intend to install with my Outback VFX 3000 off grid inverter. I want to be able to run my load off solar during the day and run off the grid at night. I.e. I want my solar output to be my main source of running my home load while the grid will be my backup. How do implement this? Does midnite solar classic 150 have an inbuilt auto transfer switch that can accomplish this? If not, how do I go about wiring an independent transfer switch to my setup to effect my need?

What might work - if you can change grid charge voltage lower than the Classic so Classic  is higher , then it should take over producing power when the sun is out .
There is no transfer switch but there are two built in  AUX relays which can control in many different ways . So you could have Aux switch your grid charge line on and off using a SSR controlled by the Aux.
Look in Classic manual for more info on all the different Aux logic settings.
