If it is an external combox , I don't understand why it is getting so hot.
I think it was said that a Banana Pi is being used ?  I watch a lot of videos by Explaining Computers and Jeff Gerling and they both test out various cases for the Raspberry Pi's , some  with fans and some are passive heatsinked to metal case. They do various stress tests on them and record all the temps.
I am surprised it gets so hot - maybe that Banana Pi just isn't up to the task ?

Hey, I watch that YT channel too !

No, it's an Orange Pi.  Jim is in Florida so maybe that has something to do with it ?

Even Raspberri PI's have fans though.  Mine here in AZ does anyway.

The MNCOMBOX project was cancelled due to lack of resources...
Monitoring was turned over to Solar Assistant.

We have been working with Solar Assistant and am happy to announce that they have basically finished the monitoring portion of the project. They anticipated releasing it as Beta Monday or Tuesday, I will check on that. They will then move on to full control etc

That's great news. Perfect timing as I'm about to put a hawkes bay 90a into action. Waiting for conformation on which USB cable to buy along with the SA pi, their store has a canbus one but needs terminating, for rs485 they have one pre terminated for deye/solark etc.

It's the canbus cable:

"You will need a can bus usb cable:https://solar-assistant.io/shop/products/can_usb_self_crimp. The display has 2 canbus ports and they chain together with a terminator at each end. SolarAssistant replaces one of those terminators."

They included a picture but not sure how to upload from Android.

So I terminated the usb to canbus cable as pictured. However when I plug into either end of the canbus chain (either "in front" of the mngp2 or after the Rosie) the system acts like it's unterminated, i,e mngp2 doesn't see an inverter, and solar assistant just sits with "connecting" when you click on the connect button. Running latest available beta firmware on Rosie and mngp2.
