Why is SOC wrong?

This has been one trying week for me.

Why is my system reporting 92% SOC when my batteries (lead acid) are clearly discharged?

When the batteries are being charged, the SOC goes up as one would expect. When discharging the SOC goes down, again as one would expect.

But I've never seen the SOC drop below 80% no matter what the condition of the SOC of the batteries. I know that SOC can be sometimes a crap shoot, but I would think it should be reasonably close to what the batteries are sitting at.

I'm all ears!

do you have the battery capacity and efficiency set correctly in the Whizbang setup ? I am guessing you are talking about a Classic ?

I think I do, but I'm not 100% certain. I was on the phone with tech support today, and got the temp comp issue fixed, and we talked about the SOC not being correct, I changed some values here and there and he said it would take a few float cycle for the classic 150 to get the SOC correct. I'll wait and see.

I did see the batteries get to float late today, so I'll carefully watch the SOC tonight.

I have a midnite battery monitor nailed to the wall and it showed 'dead battery' while the SOC was reporting 85%.
