Is it possible to do firmware update of AIO without wifi or cell signal ?

I am finding the initial firmware update from the shipped version 0 to "current (3/2025)" (Master DSP v 020600) to be very slow and problematic as it relies on a good solid wifi connection, while the AIO is in standby, and takes more than an hour to complete the process.

I know it is possible to check/set parameters when on site using the phone app and Bluetooth, but I cannot find any documentation on how to download the latest firmware to a laptop, and upload to AIO at sites where there is neither wifi nor cell service.

I also cannot find any documentation on how to download/upload the full set of setting for a quick save/restore after updates in case settings get stepped on or reset during update.

Updating with a laptop requires a programing dongle. You can email support@ for more info on that. as for exporting and importing settings that is on the wish list

the dongle that came with the unit has a (capped) ethernet port on the bottom of it. is this already a "programming dongle" ? do I just need a USB-ethernet cable for my laptop ?

if not, I certainly want to buy one for the times I install units off-grid where there is no wifi OR cell! I also want to start pre-updating and configuring in the shop before install to reduce time on site at install....

Not the dongle that came with it no, Email us support@ and we can get you a price on the programmer

I wonder why the programming dongle is not a standard or optional accessory for sale thru normal sales channels ?

When installing at a site that I know does not have wifi or cell service, I would order the "programming dongle" instead of the "wifi dongle", and the homeowner could use it for local access to read/set/monitor.... since there is no other way to read/set parameters via display buttons.
