So I have been having this issue for some time where Barcelona ground fault shows up like at least once a month.
It becomes so irritating that a couple of Times it goes unnoticed and leave my batteries in low SOC .
I can't seem to find where it is coming from. The only thing I know for sure is after investigating from the panels to the battery I am picking up a stray voltage of 16 -20vdc between ground and pv negative.
Any thoughts on getting this resolved.
List of checks ,results, notes on system:
-No damaged panels
- No damaged pv wires , connectors or junction points
- No nicked/bridged wires from panels to battery
-New ground rod and location
- only suspect is PV wires from array combiner to Barcelona breakers( about 4-5 years old)from combiner box to Barcelona wire box ( pretty long about 60 ft PV wires from combiner box on roof on an insulated pole down to old Genny room that houses Rosie/Barcelona/Power Flo battery pack.
All pv box, breaker and breaker panel I Midnite with Midnite breakers and SPD.
Oh array is two strings of 8 sunpower 415 watt panels
VoC 45 Vdc per panel
All devices update to the most recent firmware:,Rosie,Barcelona,MNGP2,Powerflos ,Solar assistant.
All thought welcomed
The new 600V Midnite MPPT charge controllers don't provide a battery NEG to GND bond. I use a 15A MNEPV breaker and connect between battery NEG and the Ground bar. See if that helps.
I did asks about this will surely have to try that.
Thanks

Wiz bandit can you send a pic of how you did that? Where did you mount the breaker?
Had the same issue with a Hawks Bay. It worked fine for a few months, then started randomly throwing ground faults, didn't shut down the system, but the ground fault appeared on the display and the red light remained on until I pressed any button. Was told early boards had an issue where this would happen. Replaced the ground fault board, no joy, same random faults. Solution: Turned OFF ground fault monitoring! Turn it back on every now and then for an hour or two so if a REAL issue is live, it will let me know, then shut it off. Good luck with your Barcelona.
