I run the software in an XP VM under VirtualBox.  Recently, I can't seem to do anything with the software without it locking up.  I try and add all the items to the graph to generate a complete export, and it took all day and a dozen restarts to get them all added.  The software controller keeps dropping connection, even though it is cat-5 hard wired to my router, as is the computer running the software. Are there any known issues being worked concerning this sort of issue?

Which firmware are you running? Which local app, and air?

Hi guys,
The Adobe AIR and the Local App use a lot of system resources. This includes Disk and Networking. If the Disk allotment of your virtual machine is low or there is high latency between the VM implementation and Disk or Network operations, then you will probably notice slow or bad performance. This will get worse as the manifest files grow in size.

If you need to use a VM or otherwise high-latency IO machine, I would suggest periodically (maybe on a weekly basis) exporting your data to CSV files and deleting the Internal Log files that the Local App generates.

On Windows XP these can be found at:
C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Application Data\com.midnitesolar.LocalApplication

Delete everything but the .ini file -- AFTER exporting EVERYTHING from the Local Application. You can also just move the Folders to somewhere else on your Drive such as My Documents, etc.

Thanks.  The issue was when I was trying to setup an export of all possible values logged for a month.  I will expand the resources available for that VM and see if that takes care of it...otherwise, I'll just purge the logs unless there is an issue.  I did have an "event" sometime last August or so, where my system went to 0 watts at the same time as my neighbor's pair of outbacks reset.  I did not have mine set to auto-reset, so it stayed that way until I reset it.  Some EM/Solar event must have happened to reset three independent systems at the same moment.
