Hi, got my system running in the weekend finally. Couldn't use the local application on Linux so will look further on that. I set Aux 1 to SOC for a start which worked quite well and operated a SSR at 99% to connect the battery bank to a 24 volt 900W element in the hot water cylinder. This drew about 27 amps. At 98% it turned off. When the sun was out it ran for a couple of hours and battery input peaked at 67 amps. I think I missed some heating due to the length of the absorb cycle maybe. I changed the mode to waste not hi and will do further tests. Some of the manual I have doesn't match the controller.
Other than the water heating, I run a fridge that draws 90 watt@230 vac when running.
I noticed every often a message Got Comms would flash on the controller. Not regularly, just sometimes. Is this an indication of a problem? The manual says refer to page 72 I think it was but there is no further reference to it on the page.
Cheers,

A forum search for Got Comms shows that a VMM can work to reset to Factory specs with this error.

What version of FW do you have?
Have you updated it?   There is a very new version out 2075 I believe is the number.
A VMM is part of the upgrade process for updating the FW...

Also go here,  http://www.midnitesolar.com/, and into DOCUMENTS for the latest manual versions.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I have looked at my photos I took of all the screens and the MNGR is 1821 and Classic 1849. Should I update these to newer versions to cure the comms error?

Cheers,

The newest firmware update will probably cure that issue and some others too. Always good to update it when ever a new firmware is released.

It would be helpful to get the Local Status App working first because you can save all your operating parameters with that and restore them after the firmware update . The VMM will wipe them all out so write down what you have if you don't use Local Status App to save them first.

Thanks, I think I'll change my laptop to Win 7 as I don't have time to fiddle with the app and Wine when up there. Might dual boot at a latter stage. I'll save the settings and update the firmware too.
