Local app not full screen on Android tablet

I have the local app installed on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10 inch screen it acts like it's on a 7-inch it won't fill the screen and I can't see the tiny little fonts. Anyone know about this. Just installed first time on this particular tablet. Yes I searched.

I get the same result on a 5" phone with a hi-res screen.  The app does not detect and adjust for screen type.  Bummer.
