Little Rosie Mobile for home use?

Midnite hasn't made the RE residential version available yet, can the M version be used for a home application?  Can the neutral to ground switching relay be turned off or fixed in the position that keeps the ground & neutral separate?

I have a 7048M in use at home. It was way cheaper than the RE at Stellavolta for some reason.

I've never connected it to grid, but my understanding is it would then switch to that ac ground, versus its own neutral ground bond.

From the documentation, when in standby (generator or utility power is provided and is passed thru), the neutral is separated from the ground.  When the inverter is providing power, as you are using it, the relay ties the neutral & ground together.  The neutral & ground should only be tied together in ONE place in your system. If your Little Rosie is powering a CB panel that has the neutral & ground tied together, as is standard in most homes, then you have an issue.  I can't remove the neutral/ground bond in the CB panel as it MAY be powered by the utility at my discretion.  There-in lies the problem.

My rosie ac output goes to an mneac60 and then 14-50 outlet, and from that  I have it going to a 14-50 splitter and then 14-50 to quad 5-20 adaptors (two for each leg). So I end up with eight outlets, four per leg. And then extension cords from there. Rosie M is the neutral ground bond. If I were to plug it into a 120V outlet for grid charging turned down to 15A, then it would switch to the neutral ground bond from my main panel. I'm not trying to backfeed my main panel with the main breaker turned off.

There must br a workaround for your use case, when I called Midnite when I had trouble firing it up initially (quiet mode enabled with jumper) they asked about it and I told them I was fine with the M model versus RE.

It sure would be nice to see the e-panel that was sent out for compliance testing in May become available along with the RE version of the Little Rosie.

Essentially the Neutral to Ground bond in the inverter changes a few things if you use the mobile inverter for stationary

1- Do not make a Neutral to Ground Bond in the system anywhere as the inverter does it for you
2- Run the AC in Neutral to the inverter (Keep it isolated from AC OUT Neutral)
3- Run the AC Out Neutral to the inverter (Keep it isolated from the AC IN Neutral)

Thats about it, When off grid the inverter will make the bond and when on grid the grid will make the bond

Hey Ryan, my understanding from the 3 items you stated above, it's NOT possible to use the Little Rosie MOBILE for a home system that's also tied to the grid.  Even if I did a line side tap for the AC In, the Neutral in/outs would eventually be tied together in the Circuit Breaker panel, even if the utility L1 input is switched off. And a neutral to ground bond has to exist in the CB panel when utility power is in use.  You'd have to MANUALLY disconnect this bond anytime you want to power the panel with the Little Rosie so as not to have 2 simultaneous neutral to ground bonds.  Is this a correct understanding?  Thank you so much for your insight!

Based on Adam De Lays recent video tour of Midnites facility the Little Rosie AE (alternate energy?) is rated at 4500W versus Little Rosie "RM" at 3600W (recreational/mobile?), presumably by having a full die cast chassis and robust heatsinking like a Rosie.

Brucey,
The increase in power is based on temperature ratings only.

Typically in mobile apps they want to rate at 40C as they will be in confined spaces but in RE apps we rate at 25C

Same Rosie (Without Neutral to Ground bond switching) just allowed to run to 4500 Watts as its intended for a cooler environment
