Can I use 2 Classics feeding a single battery bank from a single solar array?

Hi Folks,

I have looked at the forum and I can't find a concise answer to this question. I have a 2.2KW solar array feeding a single 12 volt battery bank (~1350 watts at max output current). Since the array output can exceed the capability of a single controller, can two be put in parallel operation (follow-me?) to spread the load? Inputs and outputs in parallel? Or do I need to split the array and feed each controller from a separate source and if so, why?

The battery side can be paralleled but unfortunately the PV side has to be split into 2 arrays. We are hoping to change this very soon, it is on boB's wish list
