What happens if I load the wrong software into my Classic?

Nothing bad will happen if you load the wrong software into your Classic. The MNGP "Display" will toggle between RESTING and WRONG CODE in the bottom right corner. All you need to do is reload the correct software no damage can be done to the Classic by installing the incorrect software.
