Sometimes a reduced fan noise means reduced airflow and then increased heat. We take those things into consideration. Have fun with your MidNite muffler!

Yes I am!

The decision to put the charge controllers on the top was brilliant. I am noticing no difference in fan run-time vs when the unit was bare. The Schneider DC box's vent grill is mostly blocked by the charge controller :\

It is possible to put a charge controller on the side, but you just need to know how to do it.
We are looking at doing that. It helps to leave an inch between the box and the controller.
The XW controller is a couple inches thicker than the Classic too, so it blocks much more air.

I would like to use the SW (especially with the new 48V version with reduced tare loss thats coming out) in any future installs that its applicable for. The only thing stopping me from using the Classic is that it can't report to the combox re: the Array performance metrics etc. I am in hopes that Midnite will do a box like they did for the SMA SunnyBoy.

The SMA comm box took us about a year to develop. SMA cooperated by giving us some of their protocol. Schneider will not do this, so it would be pretty difficult to do. I do not think the effort would ever pay off. I am planning on putting our resources into our own inverter.
That will have a much larger pay off.

Almost 1 yr on from the purchase on this E-panel, and I am very satisfied!
I made some alterations to the sheet metal to accommodate the new Conext Battery Monitor which replaced the Trimetric ...

Thank you Robin! That means a lot to me :)

I am in the process of doing a SW install for my mom, but with the MNDC instead. This time I will be using a REAL CHARGE CONTROLLER, the Classic 150!  8) 8) 8) :o
