Do you need to install any breakers in on the AC side of the E-Panel,say to feed a couple branch circuits?If so is it normal to install them next to DC brkrs?

What do you mean by the AC side of the ePanel?  There are two AC buses, one for AC in (from generator) and one for AC out (from generator or inverter, depending on the automatic transfer switch in your inverter).

You should have an AC breaker between the AC out bus and your AC distribution panel.  The purpose of this breaker is to protect the wiring between the AC out bus and your AC distribution panel.  The AC and DC breakers can be next to each other in the ePanel, but iirc there is a safety shield that should be placed between them.

yes, the 'shield' came with my e-panel so assume it is standard issue.
