Unable to get Classic 150 to Wake-Up from Mode=Off

Have been cycling the Flooded battery bank down to 70-ish% SOC ...  had skipped two days of charge,  and yesterday,  switched the Classic 150 to Mode -Off.

Started recharging mid-day today.  Ran with inverters Charging from generator for about 30 minutes,  then TRIED to get the single Classic on this system to wake-up and contribute some additional charge current.   Battery voltage was in Bulk territory -- about 56 V.  Vin to the Classic was about 115 V.  Tried switching from Solar Mode to Legacy,  and still no go.  Must have tried thirty or more times,  pushing the Up Arrow.  NO ditzing around with the Classic,  over a period of a number of minutes,   would do the job.

Finally,  backed down the Inverter's charge current to something small,  like 30 Amps,  which did reduce the battery voltage,  into the low 50s,  and then,  the Classic awoke easily.  Ramped up the charge current from the Inverters,  and the Classic continued to do its job.

Did switch the PV input breaker for the Classic,  but the voltage decline is pretty  slow ...  perhaps waiting for the Vin to descend to 60 or 70 volts might have done the trick(?).

There have been other times where a different Classic simply would seemingly ignore a request to manually EQ,  or perhaps to begin a Bulk (not the EA issue defeating Force Bulk).

Checked the RFR,  but did not have the list ... it was RFR 16 which,  now know  is kina like,  "  I am resting because YOU told me to!!"

Just curious for other things to do to awaken  a reluctant Classic.  Thanks,  Vic

Vic, maybe the battery temp comp lower the set point voltage enough that the Classic would not wake up because it was too high ?

Did you take a look at the T-Comp / VIEW screen ?

I think that a message on the front status screen showing this would be a nice idea, maybe.

The input voltage won't be too high unless the Classic shows >= 150 volts input.

Hi boB,

Thanks for the reply.   At the beginning of the charge session,  the battery Temp was 19.5 C (read from the Classic's Temps).   The temp was not above 20 C when trying to awaken the Classic.  So,  seems to me that the Classic would view the Inverter's Bulk voltage as a bit lower,  due to a 600-ish mV temp compensation (comp is --5mV/C).

Absorption voltage had been set to 58.1 V,  IIRC ...  will check it, though.

The only other wonderment was if the WBjr/Classic team would avoid adding ANY additional charge current when charge current (from an external source)  exceeded 10% of Capacity,  set as part of WB setup ...  But think that none of these bells are in the code yet.  The inverters were doing about 12% of 20-hour Capacity of the bank.

Dunno,  not   a  big deal,  just curiosity ...    Thanks,     Vic
