Hot-swapping the MNGP

Hello all.  ;) Just a question about the MNGP and a slight problem.

I have 2 classics, one is a lite 150 and one is a standard classic 150. I only have 1 mngp and have always just swapped it back and forth as needed to do programming.  Last month I picked up a whizbang Jr for the lite 150 and had to do a firmware update to use it.  I did the update with the win 8 updater on the lite first(with the MNGP plugged in,  first updating the MNGP then the lite), and it worked fine.  Then I updated the classic 150( following same procedure) and it worked great as well.  But when plug the MNGP back into the lite it says "unused address 255".  Also when I plug in the led panel into the lite,  most of the time all of the leds flash. Anyone have an idea what is causing this?

As a side note, should I be swapping the MNGP between them and if so,  is there a recommended way to do it?

Thanks to everyone who reads and my apologies for any formating errors as I am on mobile.

Hi my t30, My first thought is why a classic and a lite if your not running them in follow me? I'm not criticizing! my first classic was a lite to save money wishing I had gotten the classic because I need to fire up a computer (every time) to see what was going on using the LA, in the winter its cold in the power shed!! Ive seen this (unused address 225) on my lite in the past but not in over a year so I don't believe it was a big issue. ill look into my records to see what it was about but will take a while. hopefully someone will have an answer sooner! Maybe Ryan will step in by the AM.

My apologies,  I should have been more clear.  The two classics are in completely separate buildings and systems, hence them not being networked together.
Thanks Bobwhite.

The firmware of the MNGP and Classics need to be the same version, So if you updated one Classic you need to update both. Also it sounds like you have one of the older MNLPs that no longer works witht he new code. It will bugger up the communications and the classic is not going to respond to the MNGP after that unless you reboot it. If you email me your shipping info and phone number I will send you a new MNLP ryan@midnitesolar.com

When I updated the classics I updated them both in the exact same way,  with the MNGP connected,  first updating the MNGP and then the classic.

What do you mean by reboot? Turning power off and on again or reset to factory settings? I don't have access to them till the weekend but I can try this and then plug in the MNGP.

The MNLP that I have is approximately 3 years old.  Does that sound old enough to be incompatible with the new code?

Next question is how old it to old? My brother asked me to update his 2 year old lite 200. Is this going to cause issues with his MNLP?

Thanks for the offer to send me a new one.  I would not want you to have to send me one if that's not the problem,  so I I will try resetting the classic and see if the MNGP works.
Thanks Halfcrazy

Yes Rebooting meaning a simple power cycle.

Anything older than 3-4 months on the MNLPs will be an issue. If you note in the email you need 2 I can do that
