SOC efficiency config

After the longest nicest autumn i can remember we just had the longest run of consistently wet weather i can remember. Sixteen straight days of rain, and in our off grid world that brought the first time our system hasnt floated for 16 consecutive days. Because we are overpanelled and there were intermittent brighter periods, SOC remained high, but with our Classic set to the default (Ah in/Ah out) charge efficiency of 94%, the SOC drifted quite a bit over those 16 days. Does anyone whose spent time tweaking theirs have an idea what would be a better setting for us? Its going to be a very long time until we see weather like that again, and increasing 1% at a time will take years to show an effect. If i was smarter i ought to be able to reverse engineer our log data to calculate it. I suppose. However its a mushy figure, given that it varys by charge stage.

Second graph, metservice rainfall (mm)& temp (C) by date for the same period, for the nearest town. (For some of that period our own rainfall logger was running, and showing about 4 times those levels, (us being on the mountain)).

Have you looked at Grahams Android App?  It will now, in the Live Chart window,, show you a very nice graph of your Bulk and  Absorb phase so you can get an idea off just how strong/weak the days charge has been..

I find it quite interesting and am  analyzing , in my mind, what the impact of lowering the Absorb V point a tad would be, ie the drop to EA may take longer thus a slower 'deeper' charge .

WB, blackbox also gives that level of detail. Absorb voltage helps get the job done when the sun hours are slim. IF you have the daylight, then try it, you can even use skip days to do those slow floats.

You have AGMs, what efficiency setting do you use? I suppose 10% off after 17 days isnt the end of the world, but it is kind of during those events when you most can use SOC information.

ZB , your a worry wart ;) , it's not all that bad to not make float EVERYday & then have a workout fortnight .
I have over panelled for winter draw (pool , incubators,brooders ) are used during sun spring & summer , come rain overcast , pool systems are shut down till big sun & just the chem trail planes cut the harvest . In rain on the wet coast of Canukland , I can see 2 months of gray days . I will make float in the winter , but power needs are at basic .
Same as the Hills dryer tree , it's used on no rain days but overcast & it still works .
