Hey gang, I aquired some of these batteries at a decent price to use in my system.

I have contacted exide and they sent me one of the attached docs with no direct answers to my questions regarding charging regime. :(

It may be that they are not designed to be used in an off grid system, more for ups i think.

It seems to me that the float voltage is 2.27vpc and that the bulk charge up to 2.4vpc.

At 48v that would be 54.5 and 57.6, and i suppose absorb would be close to 55.

I will be using a whizbang jr and I am stuck trying to figure out the percentage change per degree c as stated in the doc as -0.005 x k.

Can anyone offer suggestions?

Cheers,
Ben.

Fwiw, Rolls uses a formula that turns out affecting the final charging parameters depending on what your charging source is.  For example, my solar charging parameters are slightly different from my inverter charging parameters.  You could use their formula which may give you some numbers to help determine your parameters, based on other info you may have.  I know each battery is different, but just sayin... especially if you can’t get any thing firm from Exide.

Yes on his attachment they have 25 deg C  and say it must be temp compensated ( though they don't say the temp compensation ) . They do have  temp compensation graph  so the milivolt per cell can probably be figured out from that .
Their info is kind of confusing on those graphs they have. I can't quite figure out what they are calling for charge times and voltage. It almost seems like they give the info for float charging at a C10 rate ?
