Changes to optimize Hawke's Bay for use with lithium.

Any chance of making one of the Hawke's Bay aux port dual purpose (input/output) and adding an on/off input mode. That way it would make easy the integration with an external BMS. Also, one question. I know that the Hawke's Bay can charge lithium batteries. But can it survive being disconnected from the battery while charging at full amps (the BMS disconnect while charging at 120 amps with the pv at 585 vdc)?

Which kind of bms would be able to send the on off signal ?

Mainly the external ones that have relays. Batrium, Orion Bms, etc. But could be done with an All in one BMSs that have uart, rs-485, etc., if using a Raspberry pi or an Arduino. With others, if the board has a disallow charging led, you can tap the led circuit (using a low voltage low current SSR to drive another relay).

My Jakiper batteries have external contacts for alarm circuit that would probably do that. I need to test it sometime though.

Hello,

Just wondering if this was ever addressed. I have a Batrium BMS I would like to have control over the Hawke's Bay output (on/off)
Cheers

It has to be able to output Pylontech protocol to work with the Hawkes Bay closed loop. So that is what you need to find out.
There is another discussion talking about the new firmware update which will make this possible for the pylontech output batteries. There are some bms that use that and others that you can program it to talk pylontech

Does the Hawke's Bay use Pylontech HV or Pylontech LV?

FNG

I have asked, I am guessing LV as I assume the LV is low voltage and HV is high voltage but I could be way off sideways on that
