2 days ago my TV started spuriously changing inputs to Blue ray CD.
We recently had some close lighting strikes and the solar activity.
I rebooted every thing (TV, dish, blue ray and remotes) to no avail.
Unplugging the Blue ray HDMI fixed the problem.

It appears that the HDMI was spuriously generating a "connect gee you want to use me" signal.

The HDMI cable is approx 18" long and not far from a window.

IMHO either the Blue ray is defective or the HDMI cable is actually acting as an antenna for magnetic or UHF solar activity. Is my imagination over active??

Once the SUN settles down I will reconnect and let ya know.

I did a quick search on google and there are lots of posts and questions and possible solutions people try for this problem , some by changing settings in the TV.
Here is one but there a many others

Well.
Today at noon I plugged the blue ray HDMI back into the TV.
There have been no spurious input change thus far.
There have been no changes to the configuration since Saturday and Sunday when the issue was apparent.

I am left with no choice but to blame the issue on Solar Flare magnetic or UHF interference.

Very strange !   I suppose the flare could have caused some havoc.

Try another cable ?   Ferrite clamp around the cable ?

Will be interesting to see if it continues or stops misbehaving.

I am sure a quality shielded cable would prevent further occurrences.
