IEEE 450 accepts this.  The NRC (nuclear regulatory commission) has adopted this standard for their backup battery systems.

Attached is a copy of IEEE 450-2002. See section A-2.

A newer version IEEE 450-2020 is out there but would cost me $90 to access. Hopefully someone at Midnite might have access and could share some excerpts/updates.
