Can anyone advise as to whether the fans on this unit are variable according to use? I see no db rating on specs. I am about to pull the trigger on purchasing this and would love to hear from somebody using this model, especially in an off grid application. I was considering other manufacturers but my mind was made up when I called Midnite today and could not believe that an actual human (Michelle I believe ) actually answered the phone and then transferred me to another actual human (Todd I think) who answered a few technical questions I had. This is my first solar set up I am about to set up at my off grid cabin and its very reassuring to know that even though these units are available from other places, Midnite staff are there to answer the phone, speak my language and offer assistance. Surely that is worth its weight in gold to anyone especially a Newby! Well done Midnite Solar!

Ask Ryan - he probably knows  . He set up a different version but hard to tell from video because fans are running on other controllers I think.

I have one installed and I really cant say. I have heard them ramping up to full speed tho. I would have to pay more attention as it function to see if I can hear a difference speed at different outputs.

I can confirm that the fans on the DIY3024 are indeed variable speed.

I just installed one yesterday and I too can confirm variable speed. It came on pretty much WFO but slowed after a few minutes.
I do have another question about the fans. Are they necessarily loud? When I fired it up the first time some of the plastic shielding around one fan was hung up in the blades and even after clearing it the one fan was pretty loud.

Maybe you have something that is "sticking" around the fan when running full speed ?

It may be also, that when first turned on, the inverter turns on the fans as a test.  Our charge controllers that have fans do this too.

May be. This is the second of these units I've installed and I don't remember the first one being noisy
