I read that the MN15-12KW-AIO is made in USA. Does it qualify for the IRA Domestic Content 10% Adder tax break?

Robin

The All in One is not made in America. Even if it was there is a serious doubt if it or any of our products qualify. The IRA bill is a mess. We can't get resolution from anyone. The Rosie inverter is designed and manufactured in Arlington WA. USA. The way the IRA bill is written the Rosie does not qualify either!!!
You have to use all American components. Well, just try buying electronic components that are made in the USA. Very few exist at all. No resistors, no chip caps, no electrolytics, no glue logic, no microprocessors etc. No fans or LCD's. It is not possible to use all American components. There is an exception for this however. We could send our circuit boards down the street to a board contract manufacturer and then it doesn't matter where the components originate from. Well, we have 30 pick and place machines for a reason. We build all of our boards in house in order to remain competitive. We could not use a contract manufacturer at the prices we charge. Then there is the enclosure. We get castings from China because the tooling costs domestically are prohibitive. So.....even though we really are the only manufacturer building inverters here, we do not qualify! These politicians that come up with these great programs are clueless. And to make it worse, we have nobody in the government to talk to about this stuff. All correspondences have fallen on deaf ears. We are all ears for anyone that has a way for us to be able to take advantage of this bill that was written just for companies like MidNite Solar.

Hopefully they fix the IRA bill. It seems like there is a transition to US manufacturing especially EV industry. Either way I personally try to buy Made in USA as much as possible.

Do you guys assembly the inverter here in USA or is completely made in China(I'm guessing)?

I just came back from US after spending a month ,my first visit and I was really astonished after spending that time in two states Florida ( quiet a lot of solar)and Minnesota.
I had an opportunity to look at some residential pv systems there and how they are performing and was hoping to learn something.Long story short I was astonished as to how much people are clueless of items not really American all because it's supported by US warranties and support .
Got into friendly argument until I pulled up the Lux power variants -Lux power 18k,EG4 18k and fortress Envy.
Topped it off with the Deye and Solark which a lot of the newer home/ installs seems to be sporting except those rich guys with teslas .
To add to this on another note my father- in -law operates an engine silencer and blower machine shop and has switched  getting Chinese components just to keep his business from failing.
He was previously buying components from Texas that is  purely American .The company in Texas would have expressed that same frustration Midnite is echoing even though there are heavy tariffs on the Chinese components.

Simple issue with a robustly complicated solution.
Simply can't compete no matter how good the product is.
Just sharing my observation as an outsider ,no puns intended!
1.5kw on Midnite classic 150(whizbang jr.) networked 0.660kw on classic lite 200 wbjr ,180ah CALB Lifepo4 48v battery bank,jkbms 150amps bms(top balanced) Outback vfx3648.
Soon to be added Sol Ark 8k with 5Dyness Bx51000 ,7.8kw pv

The  ONE, from China, is totally built in China.  I'm guessing that they don't use any American parts !

Some companies used to say they were built in the USA or Washington state by getting the completed Chinese units and then dis-assembling them and then re-assembling them. All the hard work is done then. There appear to be new rules on that because a certain amount of the parts must come from the US.

MidNite never did this type of thing.  We have manufactured electronics products starting in the 1970s in the audio industry.  So we can't stop now !

But the inverters and charge controllers are all built in the US.  Arlington, WA.   All of the PCB assembly, parts stuffing, SMT, flow soldering, reflow soldering for the SMT components and mechanical assembly which is one of the harder parts to manufacturing here.  All in house.  We use local manufacturers for sheet metal and some other necessities of course.
