Do they exist? If they do exist does anyone know of source for good reliable ones?

I know that grid tie inverters come in 36 voltage on input side, but I am not sure can I use those for my 36V battery bank?

Thanks !

If OutBack still makes the 36V inverter, buy it. Do not buy Tripplite!!!

Robin, can i take it that tripp lite is a really poor product? I'm not familiar with it at all just that it has been around a long time.

BW, I think the first clue is that it has been around a long time.

There has been a lot of water under the bridge since it was developed,  and there have been a lot of advancements since then...

I think we are looking at an antique unit with tripplite so if you wish to keep up and be efficient chose something or a unit that will give you what you need not what you want- jmho. Thirty six volts is an odd and not so much used but I'm sure you have reasons for going with that voltage for your system, maybe just to get by with what you have and I'm all for that! My thought for myself is to wait for MN to produce a converter before I improve my system, we use a lot of power so I need to bust it up as twenty four isn't going to cut the mustard here this summer, and I don't wish to keep adding controllers to meet my needs but will (if) the need deserves it and will make it a MN I hope! Were you able to find an Outback?
If Im off base Im always open to be corrected :)

sigp2101,

32/36 volt used to be a big standard, a lot of the Jacobs wind generators were 32/36 volt and fishing boats were in the 30's thru the 50's were , but 36 volt is rarely used now.   It would be much better in the long haul to stick with something that is supported.   24 or 48 volts are the standard now and you will not have problems finding equipment that works at these voltages.

I will say what someone that is in the industry cannot.......(Don't bad mouth your competors)....

Tripp-Lite is a piece of crap! It is not only a poor product, it is piss-pour!  I have had many, most are square wave, not well designed, do not have a decent wave shape, electronically noisy  (EMI/RFI) ......stay away from them.....they are designed to sell at a cheep price point........ Most of the cheep Chinese inverters are better than the Tripp-Lite
just my opinion  ,  (50 years in the electric/electronics industry)

Somewhere I have seen data on a 36 volt inverter from one of the higher end inverter companies,
Possibly that was Steca/Victron but I do not remember just right now.

I have never heard of Outback doing 36 volt, but outback is an excellent inverter......they would be a good unit if it is an FX or VFX line.

The opinion expressed here does not necessarily represent the views of midnite solar or any of its employees but are expressly mine!

And if the OP really needs a 32Vdc unit , Call Outback tech support & ask for a build of one.
I called and had a chat with them on a different subject , but brought this and other things up.

Yes, I am still looking for one 36V Pure SW 110V unit in 1000-1500W range but no luck.
So far I Google yield only two Chinese el cheapo units at 500W and 1000W.
